Dab Rig

A specialized water pipe designed for consuming cannabis concentrates. A dab rig uses a heated nail or banger — typically made of quartz, titanium, or ceramic — instead of a bowl. A small amount of concentrate (a 'dab') is placed on the heated surface and vaporized. Dab rigs deliver very high doses of cannabinoids rapidly and are primarily used by experienced consumers. Electronic versions are called e-rigs.
