Anandamide

An endocannabinoid produced naturally by the human body that binds to CB1 receptors — the same receptors activated by THC. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word 'ananda,' meaning bliss. Anandamide plays a role in mood regulation, memory, pain perception, and appetite. THC produces its effects partly by mimicking anandamide and preventing its rapid breakdown. Some terpenes and lifestyle factors (including exercise) may support anandamide levels.
